Weekly Quote: “Be Organized”

-I know that this is a pretty short quote but I really like it because it applies so much to every aspect of my life.  When this was said in class we were talking about section 504 of the rehabilitation act and how if we want to make sure that we are following all the rules and also giving the best to our children we need to make sure that we are organized in all of our work. Keeping all the documents and files in their correct place and not only giving the children the best education we can but also keeping things organized and clear for the parents of the children!

This week I learned a lot about ADA, IFSP and 504.  I had never heard of these three things before (at least I do not recall hearing them before).  I really enjoyed reading through the material and our lessons in class as we learned about what these things entailed and how we can use them in our future carriers. To be able to expound and further my knowledge as I read each weeks reading I want to make a goal of mine to write down two things to share in class about the reading each class period. I really enjoy the discussion time that we have at the beginning of class.  Being able to read about the topic and then having a discussion about it and listening to my peer’s way of interpreting what I have read really helps me understand the material and remember it! I know that there is still a lot I have to learn about these topics so I wouldn’t say that I am completely prepared for applying what I have learned but I’m more than partway there.  I did not talk a lot with my peers around me but from what I did hear from our discussions it seemed as I a lot of them really understood the different components of ADA, IFSP, and the 504 act. I was not very good at sharing in this class this week but I want to change that and come more prepared to share what I have learned to help my peers!
